Detroit Audubon is partnering with Arboretum Detroit and Detroit Future City to offer birding workshops and events at Circle Forest in 2022 and 2023.

Join us for our Introduction to Birding by Ear led by Detroit Audubon Research Coordinator, Ava Landgraf. We will discuss all the basics such as how to get started, methods to practice, some of the most recognizable local bird calls and songs, and learning some helpful tips and tricks. The discussion will be about an hour, followed by a walk through the Callahan Park meadow where we will focus on listening for bird calls and sounds.

The lesson will take place at Circle Forest (3301 Palmer St) and there is a port-a-potty available.

Sign up through Eventbrite is not required but it is helpful for us to get an idea of the number of participants.

We will be outside but still encourage wearing a mask. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19, please stay home.
